What You Need To Know About Skin Care

What You Need To Know About Skin Care

By Ana IliescuI hope we all agree that beauty starts with a beautiful skin. Personally, I believe that skin is our ultimate accessory: it allows us to display physical health, well-being and utter beauty. Who needs make-up when you have a gorgeous, radiant derma? Sadly, some women tend to neglect skin care. Make-up, as exhilarating as it is, can't do its wonders unless it is applied on a clean surface. Therefore, what do you need to do in order to have your skin reflect your inner beauty and send forth that beautiful shine we all long for?

1. Tend to your pores. This piece of advice is addressed especially to those of you who have oily skin. Pores can become dilated around your nose under the effect of heat, sunlight or excessive sebum. Also, dilated pores usually come hand in hand with black spots. Thus, make a weekly ritual out of eliminating black spots using a dark spot remover, and another one out of thoroughly cleaning your pores using a cleanser with salycilic acid. A home-made option would be a solution made out of vinegar and aspirin pills - astringent and anti-acne.

2. Never go to bed without removing your make-up. Leftover make-up can age the skin immensely over a period of time. Use make-up remover and cleanser, toner and moisturizer. If you feel you don't have time for the entire ritual, you can replace the toner and cleanser with thermal water. In combination with natural sebum, thermal water eliminates close to all skin impurities.

3. Sleep and have a balanced diet. A minimum of 8 hours of sleep per day is required if you want your skin to look great ("beauty sleep"). If you can't seem to let go of watching late-night movies or chatting on Yahoo Messenger until 4 a.m think of the gorgeous dark circles you'll have around your eyes the next day. Speaking of eyes, always be extra-tender with the area surrounding them and apply some cucumber on it from time to time. Your diet should include vegetables rich in water (cucumber, spinach, broccoli) and fruits. Avoid saturated fats if you want to stay away from break-outs.

4. Don't smoke and don't drink. I'm sure you know how alcohol can affect your body over an extended period of time - stay away from it. Smoking can create dark spots on the skin and because of the facial gesture associated with inhaling the smoke, premature wrinkles can appear around the mouth area. In addition to the damage it does to your general health, smoking also makes your skin have an unpleasant scent.

There you have it - useful info about skin care. Remember to drink 8 glasses of water a day and go for a jog once in a while!

Acne Tips And It's Prevention

Acne Tips And It's Prevention

Acne is a human skin disorder that is common in today's world. It is normally characterized by scaly red skin areas, black and white heads, pimples, large papules and maybe scarring. Acne normally affects the skin where there is a dense population of sebaceous follicles existing in areas such as the face, the upper chest area and mainly the back. The way acne affects one on his or her body is very unpleasant, that's why one needs to be aware of these acne tips that I have shared here in order to assist them in getting rid of this problem.
Acne is found to be common in an adolescent and normally continues into their adult life. Acne in adolescence occurs due to overproduction of testosterone which is produced by both male and female during puberty. In most cases acne diminishes as one grows older and will tend to disappear, but for others it does not and later becomes a problem to the individual.
Acne can develop into a severe form that is inflammatory or non-inflammatory. Acne lesions are caused by changes in the sebaceous skin unit structures that contain hair follicles and sebaceous glands which require androgen.
Apart from using acne products such as Acnezine and Benzyol peroxide which have proven to be successful in preventing breakouts of pimples, due to their anti-oxidant and moisturizing effect respectively, the following acne tips will help you in the management and prevention of acne:
1: Develop a habit of washing your face daily - regardless of your day-to-day activities. It is important to wash your face at least twice a day using a suitable acne cleanser, avoiding those that are oily or alcoholic to avoid having a dry and tight skin after washing your face.
2: Avoid touching your face unnecessarily with your hands - this is because our hands are always dirty and by avoiding touching your face then, you will be preventing dirt and bacteria from clogging the pores of your skin. This is one of the top acne tips that will also prevent other diseases from affecting you.
3: You need to shampoo your hair regularly - this helps to reduce the dust that our hair collects during our daily activities and in addition to that, people with long hair should ensure that their hair is tied up properly to avoid contact with their face.
4: Wipe sweat - always wipe away the sweat that drips on your face to avoid acne by using mild facial cleanser so that you may get rid of the dirt and also the sweat that has been dried up on your face.
5: Avoid the use of granular facial scrub - granular facial scrub will only worsen the situation as it will lead to scarring and even reddening.
6: Avoid squeezing or even scratching of the acne - no matter how much the pimple might be irritating, you should avoid scratching as it may lead to permanent scarring.
7: Seek medical treatment as early as possible - this will help in avoiding severe acne problems in the future by seeing a dermatologist near you.
8: Regular exercise - when you do regular exercises, you will be increasing the rate of your blood flow which helps in minimizing your stress levels that may cause acne.
These acne tips are surely the best and most effective ways in managing and preventing acne that is more of a facial problem and can also affect the mental health of a person.
